LGBT Funds to Host Conversation on Aging

The LGBT Funds of the Erie Community Foundation will host their second education session, “LGBTQ+ Elders and Affirming Community: A Film and Conversation for Erie's Future,” on September 20.

Together, the group will watch the acclaimed documentary, Gen Silent, which follows the lives of six LGBT seniors who must choose if they will hide their sexuality in order to survive in the long-term health care system. Following the screening, attendees will hear from and engage in conversation with a panel of Erie area professionals experienced in long-term care issues and needs.

Members of the LGBTQ+ community, allies, eldercare professionals, and other interested individuals are invited to attend this educational event focusing on issues of aging as they relate to the LGBTQ+ community. Attendees are eligible to receive continuing education credits (more information below).
